  • altHR is a digital workforce management solution aimed to help companies of all sizes increase efficiency and boost employee engagement
  • altHR Spaces helps manage and monitor occupancy of facilities or locations

SUBANG JAYA, 23 December 2020 – Today, Digi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd (Digi)’s altHR introduced the availability of altHR Spaces, for businesses to manage, track, and monitor the occupancy rate of rooms or locations around the office.

Starting today, managers can easily track occupancy rates of locations such as meeting rooms, office facilities or more. In the New Normal, this can be used to enforce social distancing measures effectively. Within the altHR admin dashboard, managers can create a space, indicate its maximum capacity of occupants, and occupancy threshold. For example, the office gym can typically accommodate a maximum of 20 people on a normal day but in the New Normal where social distancing measures have to be adhered to, the threshold is set at 50% so that only 10 people can be in the gym at any given time.

Managers can generate unique QR codes and display them at entrances of selected spaces. This allows for employees to check-in and check-out from the spaces they enter. Within the altHR app, employees can also see the current number of occupants in the space without having to be physically present in the space.

altHR Spaces eliminates the tedious and manual process of enforcing social distancing measures throughout the office. Once managers have enabled Spaces in altHR, employees can visit the space and check-in by scanning the unique QR code. Employees  will not need to scan the QR code upon exit, instead, they can checkout by tapping a button in the app. In case employees forget to check out, managers can also set a time-based notification to remind them to do so.

Digi’s altHR recognises the need for a digital tool to easily manage employees in regards to the gradual return of employees to the office in the New Normal. altHR Spaces caters to requirements around managing social distancing measures and this can be used as part of an organisation’s Business Continuity Plan during the COVID-19 pandemic. For businesses with limited office space, altHR Spaces can help ensure that managers are able to maintain safe social distancing measures at work by controlling the maximum number of people in a given space all the time without the need for manual monitoring.

The introduction of this brand new feature is in line with Digi’s mission to help Malaysian businesses in their digitalisation journey especially to operate more efficiently  in the New Normal.
