To help make life easier for admins, we’ve recently added public holiday replacements in 2023 to the Leaves module on altHR. To view the full list of 2023 Malaysian holidays, head over to the Admin Dashboard > Leaves module > Settings > Holidays > Year 2023, then click Edit.

The added Replacement holidays are turned ON by default, but it’s best if you review the list and make adjustments according to your organisation’s needs.

For example, if the replacement holiday is not applicable to your office/employees, you are able to toggle it OFF and it will not appear in the Leaves calendar during leave application.

Upon configuring the applicable Leave Days, do not forget to Save your changes at the top of the page.

In addition, we recommend that you review the Work Days settings for your office. Head over to Leaves > Settings > Work Days, then click Edit.

Since we’ve added the Replacement holidays, you may need to change the setting that controls what happens if a public holiday falls on your company’s Off days.

For example:

  1. If you’ve previously set that public holidays that fall on Off days should be moved to the next working day.
  2. If Sunday is an Off day for your company, and Thaipusam fell on the Off day, this setting will add a Replacement holiday for Thaipusam on Tuesday.
  1. Since we have catered for Replacement holidays, you may set it as ‘Do nothing’ and the list of public holidays will appear correctly.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation while we improve the system. As always, email us at support@althr.my if you are facing issues or have any improvements to suggest.
